Water Well Inspection
A private water well inspection consists of a visual inspection of equipment, electrical circuits to the equipment, pipes and the insulation of the pipes. The inspection may uncover leaks in the equipment, equipment not operating properly, rusted pipes or improper materials used in the well equipment.
The inspection does not consist of removing pump heads, screens lines or other components or determine the reliability of the water supply or source.
Bacteriological Testing
All State Home Inspections does off site well water bacteriological testing. This is not included in the visual inspection of the water well components.
A water sample will be collected and delivered to a a laboratory that is accredited by the State of Texas under the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP). The laboratory will test for Coliforms (bacteria found in the soil, in water that has been influenced by surface water and in human or animal waste), Fecal Coliforms (coliforms that are present in the gut and feces of warm-blooded animals) and E Coli (a major species in the fecal coliform)
A written report will be issued by the laboratory on their test results and delivered to the customer normally within 2-3 days.
